  19. Description:
  20. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  21.       ImageDesk is a program to catalog picture directories. By this
  22.       small representants of the pictures, so called thumbnails  are
  23.       being  generated and internally expanded to objects which will
  24.       include all essential image attributes. Several thumbnail  ob-
  25.       jects  which  corresponding pictures are in the same directory
  26.       could be saved together into a catalog file for  being  avail-
  27.       able immediately on request. These files could be saved packed,
  28.       too provided XPK has been installed. The following picture for-
  29.       mats are currently supported and will be recognized:

  31.         * IFF ILBM (std. palette upto 256 cols, EHB, HAM, HAM8, DEEP)
  32.         * GIF (87a, 89a)
  33.         * JPEG (by the use of Christoph Feck's 'Tower JPEG codec') 
  34.         * PCX (1 bit upto 32 bit)
  35.         * BMP (4,8 & 24 bit, OS/2 and Windows formats, unpacked only)
  36.         * PCD (upto BASE size)
  37.         * PNM (P4, P5 und P6)
  38.         * TARGA (all formats)

  40.       The corresponding picture of a  thumbnail  object  could  be
  41.       shown  if  requested.  Therefore  two  internal viewers, the
  42.       window-  and  the  screen  viewer,  exists  for  each  above
  43.       mentioned  format.  The  latter  are  able to view Images on
  44.       CyberGraphics-, Picasso- or standard 8 bit screens.  If  you
  45.       do not like the internal viewers, it is also possible to use
  46.       external picture viewers.
